How Much Does a Signboard Cost in Cameroon?
Published prices for the signboard work we do most, and an honest account of what changes the number.
A signboard in Cameroon costs between about 40 000 XAF and over 100 000 XAF, depending on size, material and whether it lights up. That is the short answer on signboard price Cameroon. At NestX in Bamenda we publish real figures for the work we do most often, and we quote everything else in 24 hours. You should not have to walk into a workshop and be sized up before anybody tells you a number.
Why you cannot find signboard prices anywhere online
Search for signboard prices in Cameroon and you find nothing. We checked properly. The two fabrication businesses in the whole country with a working website, one in Yaounde and one in Buea, publish no prices at all. Everybody else is offline: sign painters, flex printers, carpenters, found by word of mouth and a phone number written on a wall.
So a first-time buyer has no way to know whether 45 000 XAF for a shop signboard is fair or daylight robbery. You ask three people, you get three numbers, and nobody explains what is behind any of them. That is the worst part of buying a signboard here. It is why we publish.

What actually moves the price
Size
Material is sold by the sheet. A signboard that fits inside one sheet is cheap. A signboard that runs 10 cm over the sheet edge forces a second sheet and a joint, and the price jumps. Before you fix a size, ask us what the nearest sheet-friendly size is. Many customers save real money by dropping 5 cm.
Material
Acrylic, PVC and wood do not cost the same and do not last the same. In the North West, with our rain and our sun, the wrong material is the expensive one because you buy it twice. We wrote a full comparison in acrylic, PVC or wood.
Lighting
Lighting is the biggest single jump in any signboard quote. An unlit acrylic plaque and the same plaque with per-letter shadow lighting are two different products with two different prices. One light behind a whole plaque is the cheap version. Every letter with its own light is the expensive version, and it is the one people photograph at night. Number of letters
On a lit signboard, price follows letters, not words. GOLDEN GATE PHARMACY is 18 cut letters, 18 mounting points and 18 light runs. THE SPOT is 7. If your business name is long, a shorter trading name on the signboard with the full name in small text underneath will cut your bill.
The state of your artwork
If you send a clean vector logo, we cut from it directly. If you send a screenshot from Facebook, somebody has to redraw it before any machine touches material, and that is time. Photograph of a logo on paper, blurry WhatsApp forward, logo with a white box around it: all of these add work. Send the original file from whoever designed it.
Mounting
Flat on a plastered wall is simple. On a rough block wall, on a rolling shutter, high up over a road, or on a wall that belongs to a landlord who wants no holes, the fixing method changes and so does the cost. Send us a photo of the wall with the quote request. It saves a site visit.
How our prices sit against the wider market
We do not have Cameroon-wide price data, and anybody who claims to has made it up. What we do have is a handful of prices actually advertised in public. Use them as reference points, not as gospel.

The Douala illuminated signboard at 250 000 XAF is the one worth sitting with. It tells you that a lit signboard in a big city is a quarter of a million CFA job. Our lit work starts at 100 000 XAF for a large per-letter signboard. We are not cheaper because we cut corners. We are cheaper because we are in Bamenda, we run our own machines, and we do not carry a Douala showroom.
What the rainy season and ENEO do to your budget
Two local realities that no price list mentions.
- Rain. Water does not damage acrylic. It destroys untreated wood and it gets behind a badly sealed light housing. Anything lit and outdoors needs sealed housings and a drip path, and that is part of the job, not an extra you can decline. If a quote for an outdoor lit signboard looks suspiciously cheap, the sealing is what was left out.
- ENEO. Power cuts do not break LED strips, but the surges when power returns do. A small surge protector on the signboard circuit costs far less than recutting letters. We fit lit signboards to run from a socket you can switch, so the signboard does not sit half-powered through a brownout.
Budget for the fixings and the protection at the start. A 100 000 XAF signboard that fails in one rainy season is a 200 000 XAF signboard.
Paying, and getting it to your town
We take MTN MoMo and Orange Money. The normal arrangement is a deposit to start, because we buy material against your specific job, and the balance when you see the finished piece. Ask for photographs before you send the balance. We send them anyway.
For customers outside Bamenda, we pack and send by transport agency to Bafoussam, Douala or Yaounde. Plaques and unlit signboards travel well. Large lit signboards travel in sections and are assembled on site, so tell us the destination before we design, not after.
Getting an exact number in 24 hours
- Measure the space where the signboard will sit, width and height, in centimetres.
- Take one photo of that wall or shopfront, in daylight, standing back far enough to see the whole thing.
- Send your logo file. The original from your designer, not a screenshot.
- Say whether it must light up, and whether it is indoor or outdoor.
- Say which town it is going to.

Questions people ask
What is the cheapest signboard you make?
A small plaque or desk award at 40 000 XAF. For a shopfront, the honest starting point is a round indoor acrylic plaque at 60 000 XAF, or a large lit signboard from 100 000 XAF. Below that you are looking at flex printing, which is a different trade.
Why do you publish prices when nobody else does?
Because buyers here have no reference point and get quoted whatever the shop thinks they will pay. Published prices mean you can plan before you walk in. It also saves us hours of quoting jobs that were never in budget.
Do I pay before you start?
A deposit, yes. We buy material cut to your specific job, so it cannot be resold if you change your mind. Balance on completion, after you have seen photographs. MTN MoMo and Orange Money both work.

How long does a signboard take?
