How we close the loop locally โ from a discarded bottle in Bamenda to a spool ready to print.

Importing 3D printing filament into Cameroon is expensive and carbon-intensive. So we make it here, from waste that would otherwise sit in the street.
The process is simple but precise. We collect post-consumer PET and PLA, sort it by type, then clean and shred it into uniform flakes. Those flakes are dried and extruded into 1.75mm filament on calibrated lines, with monitoring to keep the diameter consistent for jam-free printing.
Every quality check matters: we test tensile strength and diameter consistency so each spool meets industrial tolerances. The result is reliable filament at a fraction of the imported price โ and roughly 50 plastic bottles diverted from Bamenda's streets per 1kg spool. So far we have recycled 17kg+ into feedstock, and we are scaling.
