What actually drives the price of a 3D-printed part — and why printing locally beats importing.
The honest answer: it depends on the part — but for most small and medium parts, local 3D printing is far cheaper than importing, and you get it in days, not weeks. Here is what sets the price.
Four things mostly decide what a 3D print costs: size (how much material it uses), material (standard PLA/PETG versus tougher engineering filaments), complexity and print time (a machine running longer costs more), and finishing (a raw print versus sanded, painted or assembled). Quantity matters too — ten of something costs less per unit than one.
